All you need to know about counterbalance looms?

As it is continually said that it is "impossible" to weave "unbalanced" sheds on counterbalance looms, I decided to make an illustrated guide to why it is actually perfectly do-able...

So, now there are two new pages on my website - one about how an ordinary Swe style 4-shaft CB loom with horses works, and another one about how dräll pulleys work, and what they can be used for.

Thank you so much for putting the two pages on your website. I think they are just what I needed and I may try both ways. My drall pulleys look like the top photo. Who knows, maybe by the same manufacturer. Jenny in Charlevoix the Beautiful, Michigan USA

Perfect timing. Was explaining the difference between roller and horse type counter balanced looms. Your diagrams made it clear. Tack!

You really should also try to get around to publishing a webpage with that pdf you sent me on using the double pulleys for 8 shafts. It's wonderful! I ordered my double pulleys from Oxabach after reading your sheets and will attempt to set up two of my CB looms in this way come winter. Thank you and I think it would be so useful to others!
